I really can't express how good our stay was with Rakan. We stayed for 4 days with Rakan, and his hospitality was faultless. Wadi Rum desert is a very special place, putting aside the breath taking scenery, the people here are some of the warmest and most interesting people I have ever met on my travels. We were driven around in his 4x4 jeep, shown all the best spots in Wadi Rum and had delicious food cooked every night. Rakan and his family made us feel like this was a home from home, sat around the camp fire playing chess and drinking tea. The best bit as well was how quiet everything was, tourism in Jordan is down because of what's happening in middle east, which is a shame because Jordan it's self feels and is completely safe. The result is you can have unbelievable sights without thousands of other tourists. A real hidden gem worth coming to right now. Thank you for everything!Posted on Damien MckenzieTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. An amazing experience in Wadi rum. I stayed a night in Rakan’s camp, after spending the day on a car tour inside Wadi Rum desert. Rakan picked us up from the visitors center and drove us back the morning after. He and his nephew were really welcoming, showing us around, making sure we didn’t miss on any touristic spots in the desert. The food (dinner and breakfast) was tasty and the tent was comfortable, and well equipped for winter (lots of blankets!). You can watch the stars near a fire, and enjoy the quietness of the desert. I’d love to come back for a longer stay !Posted on Ian LagaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Rakan was very easy to schedule with and he was a great guide. He took me rock climbing and jeeping. It was absolutely the highlight of my trip to Jordan.Posted on Dominic MappasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I stayed at Rakans campsite for 3 nights and I attended both the Red Desert Tour and White desert Tour. Both were UNBELIEVABLE. The campsite was very comfortable, cozy, and had the most delicious meals. All food was a traditional cuisine cooked fresh by the camp chef, it was the most delicious Jordan food I have ever had. Each told had 8+ destinations ranging from gentle hiking activities, scenic lookouts, and unique landscapes. We traveled to each via jeeps with a private driver. Each tour was very different, the Red Tour had lots of iconic scenes from movies and viral photo spots. Whereas the White Tour was much less touristic and quieter - it was my favourite as we went to the Saudi Arabia boarder and Jordans highest mountain. Our guides, Yosef and Rakan, were amazing. Both are local men who have extensive knowledge of the desert, as well as the cuisine, customs and traditions. They love sharing their culture and enjoy tourists company. The lunch was amazing and cooked by the guides fresh at the lunch spot. It was so delicious and even better watching them cook it in front of us and explain the dish! I cannot recommend this experience enough.
