Crazy Camel Multipitch

Arrival & Preparation

Meet your certified climbing guide in Wadi Rum Village.
Receive a full safety briefing and an introduction to the Crazy Camel multipitch route.
Check and prepare all climbing equipment before heading to the site.
Take a short approach hike to the base of the wall.

Climbing the Crazy Camel Route

Grade: 5b to 6b+ 
Total length: around 100 meters divided into four pitches.
Bolting: fully bolted and well-equipped for a safe multipitch experience.
Descent: abseil down the same line after reaching the top.
Enjoy smooth sandstone, exposed positions, and incredible Wadi Rum desert views throughout the climb.

Lunch Break

Relax in the peaceful desert and enjoy a freshly prepared picnic lunch surrounded by the red sandstone formations of Wadi Rum. Vegetarian options are available upon request.

Afternoon Options

Choose to continue climbing or take time to explore the desert by Jeep or on foot. Visit iconic Wadi Rum landmarks and enjoy the warm afternoon colors as the sun lights up the landscape.

Sunset & Return

Finish the day with an optional sunset Jeep ride through Wadi Rum, capturing unforgettable views as the sky turns orange and red. Afterward, return to Wadi Rum Village or stay overnight at our traditional Bedouin camp — the only camp in Wadi Rum with its own sport climbing wall, perfect for evening fun and relaxation.

Route Breakdown

Pitch 1 – 6a+ / 25m: Technical moves and a perfect warm-up.
Pitch 2 – 6b+ / 25m: Steep and powerful climbing — the main crux.
Pitch 3 – 6a / 25m: Airy, exposed section with beautiful movement.
Pitch 4 – 5c+ / 25m: Fun slab finish leading to wide-open views.
Optional: Continue a few meters to the true summit (requires a small cam set).

Recommended Gear

12 quick draws, including several long ones.
60m single rope.
Small cam set if attempting the final summit extension.
Personal gear: climbing shoes, harness, helmet, belay device.
