Arrival & Morning Briefing

Meet your certified climbing guide in Wadi Rum Village for a route introduction and safety briefing.
Review the full plan for the day and check all climbing equipment, including ropes, harnesses, helmets, shoes, and trad gear.
Transfer by jeep to the East Face of Jebel Burdah, followed by a short walk to the base of the climb.

Climbing the Orange Sunshine Route

The route is approximately 300 meters long, divided into 8 to 10 pitches.
Grades follow French 5 / HVS 5a / YDS 5.9, making it a moderate but engaging multi-pitch for experienced climbers.
The style is traditional climbing on beautiful red sandstone with great friction and natural protection opportunities.

Pitch Breakdown

Pitch 1 begins with easy slabs and stepped terrain, ideal for warming up.
Pitch 2 continues with a mix of crack and slab climbing, finishing on a comfortable ledge.
Pitch 3 moves straight up with a short slab crux to the left.
Pitch 4 leads toward the headwall, ending at a sheltered belay spot.
Pitch 5 traverses right into the main crux section before moving back left using natural threads.
Pitch 6 and Pitch 7 offer long, enjoyable slab climbing with easier movement.
Pitch 8 is a short final section leading to the scree terrace.

Summit & Descent

An optional 30-minute walk takes you to the summit of Jebel Burdah, where panoramic views of Wadi Rum stretch in every direction.
Descent is made via the North Ridge, crossing the famous Burdah Rock Bridge — one of the most iconic natural arches in Jordan.

Lunch Break in the Desert

Relax with a freshly prepared picnic lunch after completing the descent.
Enjoy peaceful desert surroundings, red cliffs, and wide open landscapes.
Vegetarian options are available upon request.

Return to the Village

A jeep will meet you at the base of the mountain for the ride back to Wadi Rum Village, arriving by late afternoon.
