Itinerary
Approach – Khazali Canyon
Your day begins with a short 4×4 transfer from Wadi Rum Village.
You start by walking through the famous narrow Khazali Canyon, where you can see ancient inscriptions and beautiful sandstone formations.
Light and enjoyable scrambling inside the slot canyon takes you toward the upper route.
Natural Passages and Sandstone Ramps
The ascent continues over natural sandstone steps and smooth ramps.
You move through a few tight passages and short vertical sections, using both hands and feet in fun, non-technical scrambling suitable for active hikers.
Ridge Traverse
You follow the wide sandstone ridge of Jebel Khazali, opening into spectacular views across Wadi Rum’s valleys, towers, and red desert plains.
Some sections feel airy but remain safe and manageable with your guide’s support.
Summit Plateau
At around 1,400 meters, you reach the summit plateau.
Here you can relax, take photos, and enjoy panoramic views that stretch toward Jebel Rum, Um Addami, and the southern desert.
A light lunch and freshly made Bedouin tea are served before heading down.
Descent
Your guide leads the way down through safe Bedouin scrambling paths.
You can return using the same route you followed upward, or take an alternative descent depending on comfort and conditions.
A short abseil may also be included if the terrain and weather allow.
At the canyon entrance, a 4×4 jeep will be waiting to take you back to the village.
Optional Add-Ons
You can extend your experience by spending the night in our traditional Bedouin camp—or choose a more adventurous option and sleep in our natural desert cave under the stars.
If you stay overnight, you can enjoy the jeep tour the next day at a relaxed pace.
And if you arrive late on the first day, no problem—you can spend the night at our desert camp and start the Jebel Khazali Scrambling early the following morning.
