Explore Wadi Rum with the Jordan Pass
No trip to Jordan is complete without visiting as many of the museums, ancient ruins, magical deserts, and national parks as humanly possible. But, before simply jumping in and booking a tour to visit all the amazing scenes that Jordan has to offer, we should have a quick chat about the Jordan Pass first.
What is the Jordan Pass?
Normally you would need to pay in order to enter each of the country’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, Museums, and all the other wondrous attractions that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has to offer.
As this can quickly get expensive, the government has created a way for tourists to see as much as they can while only paying a flat fee. There is no doubt that the Jordan Pass cost is easy to recoup by just going to 3 or 4 of the included attractions.
While it is completely possible to visit Wadi Rum or any other place by paying the fee at the entrance gate, if you have the Jordan Pass, your entry is free. It should be noted that any entry fees or entering any attraction with the Jordan Pass does not include a tour, this is something that needs to be booked separately with a good guide like Rakan Wadi Rum Tours.
What can you do with the Jordan Pass?
There are 3 tiers to the Jordan Pass: Jordan Wanderer, Jordan Explorer, and Jordan Expert. Each offers more or less the same package with the Jordan Wanderer being the basic and including a 1 day visit to Petra, while the only difference being that the Jordan Explorer and Jordan Expert include a 2 day and 3 day Petra entry respectively.
Here is the basic package breakdown:
- A 1 day visit to Petra (depending on your selected Pass)
- Free entry to over 40 attractions throughout Jordan.
- Digital brochures that can be downloaded for free.
- Waiving of tourist entry visa fees if you purchase the Jordan Pass before arrival to Jordan and stay in the country for a minimum of two nights (3 days).
When considering the entry fee for each attraction along with the savings on Jordan visa cost (if applicable) it really makes the Jordan Pass worth it. Some notable attractions from the list include Petra, Wadi Rum, Amman Citadel, Aqaba Museum, Shobak Castle, Umm Qays, and many more.

What is the Jordan Pass Cost?
The official website for the Jordan Pass includes all the information you might need and is the place where you can securely purchase your card before your trip.
Currently the Jordan Pass prices are as follows:
- Jordan Wanderer – 70JDs
- Jordan Explorer – 75JDs
- Jordan Expert – 80JDs
As already mentioned, the only difference is that the Jordan Explorer comes with a 2 day Petra entry ticket and the Jordan Expert comes with a 3 day Petra entry ticket.
